Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how our applications (Apps) handle information when you use them. We are committed to protecting user privacy and providing transparency regarding how information is handled.

This page is provided for general information and is not legal advice. If you need advice about your situation, consider speaking with a qualified professional.

Except as described below for specific apps (in particular Book Tracker), we do not operate our own backend that receives your full personal library as a profile. Football Stickers and 8 Ball Shot Timer are simple utilities and are covered in their section below.

Information we collect

What is processed depends on which App you use. The subsections below describe Book Tracker (network and cloud features) and our other Apps (typically on-device only for core use).

Book Tracker – ISBN Library (network and cloud features)

Book Tracker is a book library and ISBN/barcode scanner app. Your library (books, genres, notes, and similar fields) is stored in a local database on your device. Import and export of library data are user-driven; we do not receive those files as the developer unless you send them to us separately (for example by email).

For ISBN and barcode lookup features, the app also uses network and Google Firebase services. In plain terms:

  • Local storage: Your library stays on the device (for example in a local database). We do not upload your whole library to the cloud as a user profile.
  • Firebase Authentication: The app may sign in anonymously so secured cloud features (for example Firestore security rules) work without a name or email login.
  • Cloud Firestore: For ISBN/barcode lookup, the app may read shared catalog or cache data and write limited cache fields (for example title, author, ISBN) to improve lookups for everyone. That processing is tied to lookup features only—not to mirror your full private library in the cloud.
  • Other networks: When the app looks up a book, it may send request data (such as an ISBN or query text) to third-party services—for example Google Books, Open Library, or ISBNdb—so those services can return book details. Those providers process requests under their own terms and policies.
  • Analytics: Firebase Analytics is not enabled for product analytics or telemetry in the app configuration we ship. (Confirm this in your build before release; if you change configuration, update this policy.)

We do not sell your personal information. Book Tracker does not include an advertising SDK for third-party ads.

What data we process (Book Tracker)

Depending on how you use the app, the following may be processed:

  • ISBN / barcode values that you scan or type in the app.
  • Book metadata returned from our services and/or lookup providers (for example title, author, and optional fields such as genre, depending on what we store or receive).
  • Firebase-related technical identifiers used for anonymous sign-in and to access protected backend resources, as described by Google and Firebase documentation (for example a pseudonymous user identifier assigned by the SDK).

Why we use this data (Book Tracker)

We use this information to:

  • Look up book details from a shared catalog in Cloud Firestore (isbn_catalog) keyed by ISBN.
  • Cache metadata in Cloud Firestore (isbn_cache) when a title was obtained from an external lookup, so repeat scans for the same ISBN can be served from the cache without repeating the same external request.
  • Authenticate the app anonymously with Firebase Authentication so the app can access Firestore rules-protected data without asking you to create an email/password account for that feature.

External book APIs (such as Google Books) may be called when an ISBN is not found in the catalog or cache, so day-to-day use can stay within Firebase/Firestore when possible.

Third-party services

The following providers may receive or process data in connection with Book Tracker:

  • Google Firebase / Google Cloud (Firebase Authentication in anonymous mode, Cloud Firestore, and related infrastructure). Google processes data according to its policies, for example: Google Privacy Policy, Privacy and security in Firebase, and Firebase Terms of Service.
  • Google Books, when the app performs a lookup that is not satisfied by the catalog or cache. Developer terms: Google Books APIs Terms of Service (see also Google's privacy policy linked above).
  • Open Library, if the app uses it for metadata. See Open Library privacy.
  • ISBNdb or similar providers, if the app uses them for metadata—refer to that provider's published terms and privacy information.
  • Apple, because the app is distributed through the App Store. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple may process information as part of the platform.

Retention and your choices (Book Tracker)

Data stored in Firebase/Firestore and data processed by Google is subject to Google's retention and security practices for those products, and to how we configure our backend. At a high level, you can typically reduce or stop this processing by not using the scanning or online lookup features, deleting the app, or clearing the app's data (which may remove locally stored Firebase session state). Exact steps depend on your device and OS version.

For more detail from Google, you may also refer to: Google Terms of Service and the Firebase and Books links in the section above.

Football Stickers and 8 Ball Shot Timer

These apps are provided as simple entertainment or utility applications. For core use they store data on your device and do not use the Firebase, Firestore, or external book lookup features described for Book Tracker.

They do not use analytics or advertising SDKs for tracking. They do not require you to create an account with us for basic use.

User-Provided Data (Import and Export Features)

The Apps may allow users to import files such as spreadsheets or other data files from their device for use within the Apps.

Except as described for Book Tracker when you use ISBN or online lookup features, any data imported into the Apps:

  • Is provided voluntarily by the user
  • Is processed only locally on the user's device
  • Is not transmitted to the developer by the import feature itself

The Apps may also allow users to export data generated or used within the Apps, such as exporting information to a spreadsheet or other file format.

Exported files are saved only to locations chosen by the user, such as their device storage or storage services configured by the user.

The developer does not access, collect, store, or receive imported or exported files through those features unless you send them to us yourself (for example by email).

Users remain responsible for the content of any files they choose to import into or export from the Apps.

Data Storage and Processing

For Book Tracker – ISBN Library, some information is processed on your device and some is processed by Google (Firebase/Firestore and, when applicable, external book lookup services) as described in the sections above. We configure our backend to support catalog lookup and caching; Google operates the underlying cloud infrastructure.

For Football Stickers and 8 Ball Shot Timer, preferences and app data created during use are stored on your device unless you export or back up that data yourself.

Data Retention

For Book Tracker, ISBN-related metadata and cache entries in Firestore may be retained according to our backend needs and Google's product practices. Firebase anonymous authentication and related technical data are handled as described by Google. You can limit ongoing processing using the choices described under "Retention and your choices (Book Tracker)" above.

For our other apps, data you create generally stays on your device until you delete it, export it, or remove the app, depending on the feature.

Apple and the App Store

Our apps are distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain information as part of providing the store, updates, and device services. See Apple's Privacy Policy; that processing is not controlled by us.

Device Permissions

An app may ask for access to device capabilities needed for its features (for example camera access to scan barcodes, or file access to import or export data). Book Tracker uses the network when you use ISBN or barcode lookup features. Permissions are used only to provide the relevant functionality. You can review and change permissions in your device settings.

Children's Privacy

Our apps are intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to provide personal information such as a name or email for Book Tracker's anonymous sign-in flow. If a child uses Book Tracker's scanning or lookup features, ISBNs and related technical data may be processed over the network as described above. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns, please contact us using the form below.

Data Security

We rely on industry-standard providers (such as Google Firebase) for secure cloud services for Book Tracker. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we work to follow good practices for the services we operate.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including rights to access, correct, or delete certain information.

For data processed by Google in connection with Firebase, Google Books, or similar services, Google's tools and policies may apply. Other lookup providers process data under their own policies. We do not maintain a separate marketing database of App users' names or contact details for Book Tracker; cloud-side data we configure is for catalog and cache support as described above. For questions about information we hold as the app developer, contact us using the form below and we will respond as appropriate.

International Users

If you use Book Tracker, information may be processed on servers operated by Google in various regions, as described in Google's documentation. Book lookups may also reach services in other countries depending on the provider. By using the app, you understand that this processing may occur outside your country of residence where permitted by law.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Apps, legal requirements, or operational practices.

If changes are made, the updated Privacy Policy will be posted on this page and the "Last Updated" date will be revised accordingly.
